Mulla Stories #3: Nasrudin Gets a Cow

One day, Nasrudin’s wife told him, “Let’s buy a cow so that we can have milk every day.

Nasrudin replied, “We don’t have enough space in our yard for my donkey and a new cow.”

But despite Nasrudin’s objection, his wife persisted until he finally gave in.

So he bought the cow—and just he predicted, it crowded his beloved donkey in the barn. This prompted Nasrudin to start praying one night, saying, “Dear God, please kill the cow, so my wife can’t bother me about it anymore, and so my donkey can live in peace.”

The next day, Nasrudin went into the barn and was dismayed to discover that his donkey was dead! He looked up and said, “God, I don’t mean to offend you or anything, but let me ask you this—after all these years, do you mean to tell me that you still can’t tell the difference between a cow and a donkey?”

Minimalist’s Weekend

Recently I wrote an article about Minimalism…

This week I’m just thinking how can we enjoy weekend like a minimalist 😉

“Be more with the less” is the ultimate concept.

Technology fasting!

Turn off technology for at least 24 hours. Be more available for personal connection and enjoy moments with the people around you. Enjoy more relaxation with less distraction.

Create more space

Don’t overschedule your weekend with all the work you have in pending. The work which can be done in parts can be done in weekdays also. Take some time to find yourself, to travel within, to enjoy the nature, the find the cuteness in others, to live.

Slow down

Everyone needs to be slow at some point of time. Give yourself that time and have no time commitment to do things in weekend.

Recreation

Enjoy like a child. Once a work is done, think about a play which will make you cheerful. Write, read, roam, enjoy.

De-stress yourself. Believe someone, Nature or God. Believe problems will be solved. Carrying it in your head will not solve them.

A minimalist will not have much things to sort out tangibly. Have minimalist mind as well.

“There is more to life than increasing its speed.” – Gandhi.

Thanksgiving Day!!!

Every year Thanksgiving Day is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. This day was historically a religious observation to give thanks to the almighty God. People celebrate this day with a great zeal with their family and friends..

Thanksgiving Day is a time to feel gratitude for the good things in life. If we pause a moment to think what we have to thank in our life, it is absolutely true that we need to thank every good and bad things that happened to us. Thank everyone, good or bad, who has made us to be what we are today.

Like good people support and motivate us, bad attitude people teach us lesson from their behaviour. Every situation designed around us teach us, favours us, pampers us and most importantly makes us live.

Thank your family and friends for being with you and supporting you through all ups and downs, tolerating our nonsenses, motivating in our tough times, and what not?

Thank your colleagues for making your day good by supporting in every aspect inside workplace. Thank every person in your life even if they have done a very little favour to you.

We should not forget to thank the people who are with us every day helping us in some way but we don’t give much attention to them. Say, bus drivers, conductors, servers…

Let it be a perfect thanksgiving to everyone starting from God to every single human being, pets, nature and everything which makes our life more beautiful.

By the way, don’t stop reading. There is an extra benefit in being thankful 😉 It improves your overall immunity and gives us peace of mind. Spread thanks!

Thank you 🙂

thank-you
